(i)  Particulars of organization, functions and duties:

The Transport Department, Haryana has two wings

i)  Operational Wing (Haryana Roadways):  

The operational wing looks after the operation of Haryana Roadways, which is a departmental State Road Transport  Undertaking of the State Govt. and is headed by the Transport Commissioner, Haryana. The Haryana Roadways is providing essential public transport services both within the State as well as to important destinations in the neighbouring States.

ii) Regulatory Wing:    

Regulatory wing looks after implementation of the Motor Vehicle Act/Rules and issue of Driving Licenses, Registration of vehicles, Issue of Permits etc. and is responsible for regulation of Transport and other Road Safety issues etc.  The wing  is headed by the State Transport Controller, Haryana.
